Laumės Are Everywhere is an artistic research project by Paula Mickutė exploring identity, belonging, and the relationship between the self and one's roots through the figure of the Laumė from Lithuanian mythology. Combining personal experience, autoethnographic reflection, and mythological sources, the research examines femininity, nature, vulnerability, and the search for authenticity.
By bringing together personal narrative and collective memory, the project investigates how myth can help us understand contemporary experiences of identity and reconnect with instinct, freedom, and a sense of belonging.
